Bibop is a pioneering cross media company particularly active in the development of multi-platform digital content management, community building, web entertainment publishing, video participative technology.
Bibop Research Int. was founded in 1995 by Gabriele Gresta and has created interactive projects such as the Mediaset portal, the Telecom Italia Net Portal and Community, the TV format "2008" for Italia1, the I-TV Alice Live web TV and Video Community for Telecom Italia and has also organised the Futurshow digital event and 'Tim Tour'.
In 2003, Gabriele Gresta also founded the Digital Magics Group in partnership with others, which is a digital media company specialised in the production and distribution of interactive cross-media contents and formats for different technological platforms.
The Bibop Research Int. was acquired by the Digital Magics Group in 2004.
Bibop has achieved a dominant position in the Italian digital technology and interactive video format market thanks to its experience in participative television projects, digital entertainment and a highly-skilled professional team. The company developed and patented the MyCast technology, a video-community platform that provides publishers with a complete video community tools to manage their internet presence and a participative video services across all platforms (web, mobile and TV), as well as making it possible to create participative formats through which the user/audience can interact into the TV show and participate live with webcams, mobile phones, social network tweets, video messages to allow the most complete social media interaction.
Through MyCast, Bibop has launched a revolutionary communications model, tested successfully and awarded internationally for its highly innovative character. This model turns the audience from passive spectators into protagonists, changing the relationship between audience and the means of communication, as well as favoring the new needs of interaction and participation: watch the MyCast video. Bibop is currently in negotiations with various broadcasters in the UK and US to supply its MyCast interactive video product. 

Bibop has an extensive list of successful case histories both in web tv and traditional broadcasting from the Eurovision Song Contest Worldwide Community, to the currently online community of Rai to the recent use of MyCast technology for live TV participation at prime time in the show 'Il piu grande' on Rai Due, an important italian state channel.
 
On 27 June 2011 Brainspark plc announces that it has entered into an agreement with Cambria Ltd. Cambria will invest EUR 1.9 million cash in Bibop S.p.A. for a 27.54 per cent. holding. Following this transaction Brainspark plc will hold 66.12 per cent. of Bibop.
This injection of capital will be used by Bibop S.p.A. to facilitate its growth strategy; the company is in trials with major UK and US TV broadcasters for its Mycast interactive video product. Bibop is also considering strategic acquisitions which will enhance its market leading presence.
 
Bibop S.p.A. has signed two memorandums of understanding with two important Chinese bradcasters.

The first MoU has been signed with the Chinese company
Shaanxi TV and BC Wireless Information Communication Co., LTD, which is wholly owned by the Shaanxi Television Station and whose main business is mobile value added services, mobile TV, games development, cartoon production and broadcasting, mobile e-commerce and media projects development. Bibop will commence a pilot project for the application of its Mycast Social TV technology.
 
The second MoU  has been signed the
Xi'an Qujang Film & TV Investment Group Co., Ltd, to work with Bibop to focus on the investment, production and publishing of film, while also pursuing investments and operations in the Chinese cinema market.

Created in September 2007 from the merger of Filmmaster Television Ltd. (company owned by Filmmaster Group SpA specialising in the production of television programmes and music videos) and Mad Entertainment Ltd (company owned by Cinecittà Entertainment SpA: www.cinecittastudios.it) that is also the major shareholder of Filmmaster Television.
Cinecittà is also the owner and the founder of "CINECITTA WORLD" a Studio's theme park in Rome, to be built in Dino De laurentis Studio's in 2010.

With a turnover of €17.7 million in 2009, Filmmaster Television is one of the largest Italian players in the TV content production industry, specialising in three main divisions/areas:
 
  • CHANNELS: manages a modular structure of play out of digital terrestrial television channels. It currently produces 2 channels and broadcasts another 3 on behalf of Dhalia TV - € 13m annually. The company is currently negotiating with major editorial producers with regard to the production and broadcasting of five further channels. It has plans to produce the "Roma Channel" and manage the official channel of Roma football club.

  • ENTERTAINMENT SHOWS: it holds the rights for many formats including "High Voltage" an early evening show in partnership with RAI TV and 2waytraffic (Sony). It has a contract with Mediaset valued at € 2m to be produced in 2010 with 10 episodes of prime-time "Sketch show" format in English with leading Italian.

  • FICTION: the Fiction division will be spun out at the beginning of 2010 into a new company co-owned at 51% by TV Filmmaster and at 49% by William Ariè, a well known television producer of fiction series.

An Italian mobile location based application company Mobnotes S.r.l. has seen a rapid take up since its inception, with more than 150,000 registered users in Italy, working in conjunction with the major mobile handset manufacturers and networks. In 2008, the company was a finalist of the TechCrunch50 (San Francisco), being selected for the international contest, out of a field of 1,500 other start-ups.
 
The company provides geo-social network services allowing users to locate nearby friends, shops, restaurants, etc. and send notification if desired. Mobnotes also links into various social networking sites to identify the location of friends. The company generates revenue through mobile advertising and custom co-branded solutions for platform licensing due to the unique dimension provided by its localisation services.
 
Mobnotes expects revenues of EUR 590,000 in 2011, which is expected to rise to over EUR 2.5 million by 2012, and is forecasted to become profitable in 2012, with an expected EBITDA of EUR 650,000, demonstrating its excellent growth prospects.
