Fulfilment specialist MetaPack appoints former Allied Carpets CEO
Retail fulfilment and supply chain specialist MetaPack has appointed former
Allied Carpets chief executive officer, Geoff Brady, 47, as an advisory
director. He will advise the company on strategy and sales.
Brady has dedicated his career to retail and has held senior positions with
Woolworths plc, Booker plc, Kingfisher plc, Superdrug plc and J Sainsbury
plc. In July 1999, he joined Allied Carpets as CEO to turn it around
following the dismissal of the previous CEO for accounting irregularities
and several profit warnings. In just 20 weeks, the company was sold for
?89m - three times its worth on his arrival.
Brady said: "Investing in the cost efficiencies and customer service levels
to be gained through e-enabled supply chains is, I believe, the way forward
and is where MetaPack can make a huge difference. The costs of retaining
loyal customers in a highly price competitive environment is becoming harder
and harder for UK retailers."
