sweatyBetty appoints Fortune Cookie

31.3.2003

sweatyBetty, the high-profile women's active wear retailer favoured by the stars, has appointed interactive agency Fortune Cookie to re-develop its online store. Fortune Cookie will take advantage of its usability and online retail expertise to focus on making the site as easy to buy from as possible.

Tamara Hill-Norton, Managing Director commented, "Our shops are like a cool oasis where the products are beautifully presented, the female staff keep fit and the music doesn't upset your decision-making powers. The new online store conveys this feeling and will give users a fun experience."

Fortune Cookie Architect George Cockerill added, "We've worked with sweatyBetty since the site's launch three years ago. Our objective then was to deliver a rich experience and establish a strong brand presence. The site was very popular and won awards. This phase is about increasing sales and enabling Betty's to buy their gorgeous products quickly and easily."

The new store will take advantage of some of the more advanced online retail functionality including allowing users to buy complete "outfits" of tops and bottoms chosen by Betty herself. The store will also offer online promotions, order tracking as well as product reviews.

sweatyBetty is one of the UK's most exciting retail brands. With five stores around London (Soho, Fulham, Kensington, Richmond and Hampstead) sweatyBetty hopes to open several other stores around the UK in the next 12 months.

Formed in 1997, Fortune Cookie has developed a proven methodology for increasing online sales which it has successfully implemented for Europcar, Slendertone and Anglia Railways.
